Case Study
South Gloucestershire Leisure Trust
The Challenge
South Gloucestershire Leisure Trust operates five Leisure Centre sites across South Gloucestershire. It is a company and a charity. In association with South Gloucestershire Council, the trust needed to work together to drive the community strategy, implement a service vision and continue to focus on improving the quality of life, health and social well being of all in the local community.
The Approach and Outcomes
Proleisure working in collaboration with SGL undertook assessments of demand, yield and profiled membership to understand what the community needed and the facilities required. This went right across all facilities for sport, recreation, physical activity and other leisure time pursuits.
Service and Product Development Plans were formulated to promote and educate people on the benefits of good health throughout the community.
A Facility Investment Plan was created highlighting the areas most in need of investment. Capital expenditure of £3 million was required to complete the work in order to maintain the provision of public facilities.
A complete review of IT systems, internal processes and the KPI management framework highlighted the changes necessary to ensure that SGL would be in the best shape possible to implement their strategy.
The Conclusion
South Gloucestershire Leisure Trust supported by Proleisure are well on the way to achieving their Service Vision and as they evolve our support for them continues.
