Case Study
Manchester City Football Club - Infrastructure Development
The Challenge
In late 2008 Manchester City Football Club were reorganising to meet the ambitions of the new owners of the club. They were embarking on a significant programme of Infrastructure Developments over the next two years. The Club had to quickly establish their ‘vision’, through the collaboration of ideas from stakeholders.
The Approach
Proleisure were asked to partner MCFC to provide the necessary support in meeting
this challenge. We were engaged as a contributor to the Executive Management Team to enable involvement in the wider aspects of the clubs infrastructure development. This formed a ‘Fully Managed Service’ partnership with MCFC and embedded the Proleisure team. This partnership allowed us to connect and integrate with the clubs operational staff, football and facilities management alongside senior management teams.
The Outcomes
A Strategic Facilities Plan that encompassed the existing facilities all MCFC sites.
We identified the following:
- The master plan for all MCFC facility assets and their use / utilisation.
- A general ‘roadmap’ for delivering the infrastructure improvement plan.
- A scheduled timeline for all MCFC infrastructure projects.
- The protocol for project development approval, commission, audit and review.
Conclusion
The project was delivered ahead of schedule within a year of the two year timeframe.
